Southern Cross Council – District Grand Prefect’s Last Meeting
In September, Southern Cross Council No XIII, was the last Council meeting to be attended by RW.Bro. Ray Hussey, District Grand Prefect, before his retirement.
A Degree of St. Lawrence the Martyr was opened by the Worshipful Master, W.Bro. David Willmott. As it was the District Grand Prefect’s last meeting the Director of Ceremonies called on the Brethren to salute him with seven.
The District Grand Prefect presented a Grand Council Certificate to Bro. Chris Eley in a very informative manner. Bro. Chris said that it was a privilege to be the last person to be presented with a Certificate by the District Grand Prefect.
Bro. Bob Hancock was then installed as Worshipful Master by W.Bro. David Willmott in a very sincere manner.
To round off a most enjoyable morning the Brethren of Southern Cross Council sat down to a splendid lunch at the Guildford Masonic Centre. The District Grand Prefect had brought along a few bottles of red wine which he decanted into two special decanters presented to him by Pleydell Bouverie Mark Lodge on his retirement as Provincial Grand Master
