Kyngstun get a visit and progress five candidates
The Kyngstun Council met at Surbiton Masonic Halls on Tuesday 5th September at 5.00 pm and were honoured by an Official visit from the District Grand Prefect, RW John V C French and a very large number of his Active District Officers of the year. The Council opened in the Degree of St. Lawrence the Martyr, with VW Bro Mik Barnes acting as Worshipful Master.
The DGP then entered the Council with his Officers and he temporarily assumed the Chair, to greet all the Brethren and receive the Minutes of the previous meeting. All of which he undertook in his own inimitable style. Before returning the Chair to the Acting WM.
VW Bro Eric Trodd then conducted the Degree of the Grand High Priest, as Excellent President. Delivering the ceremony and also the Lecture, to a very high standard. There were five candidates present to receive the benefit of this fine Degree: Barry Horne, Stuart de Fraine Ford, Miguel Godfrey, William (Bill) Barr and Paul Kerswell. With Alan Brockwell supporting as Vice President and Louis Keats as Chaplain for the ceremony.
Mik Barnes then conducted the Installation of the Master Elect, Mark Donovan, into the Chair of the Kyngstun Council for the ensuing year. The Agenda was completed and the meeting closed by the new WM. The Brethren present, twenty eight in total, then retired for a very enjoyable Festive Board.
