Another busy morning for Southern Cross Council

In April the Brethren of Southern Cross Council No XIII had a very busy morning with both the Degree of St Lawrence the Martyr and the Degree of the Red Cross of Babylon. Present at the meeting was the District Grand Prefect, RW.Bro. John French, the Deputy District Grand Prefect, W.Bro. Bob Tuthill, and the Past District Grand Prefect, RW.Bro. Ray Hussey.

A Degree of St. Lawrence the Martyr was opened by the Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Ian Clark. After taking the minutes we balloted for W.Bros. Bob Tuthill and John Coleman as joining members of the Council. This proved in their favour.

We then balloted for Richard Wileman, Deputy Provincial Grand Master of the Craft Province of Surrey, and Inspector General of the Ancient and Accepted Rite for England and Wales and its Districts and Chapters Overseas District of Surrey, for admission to the Order. This proved in his favour and Bro. Tim Ford, who was successfully balloted for at a previous meeting, and Bro. Richard Wileman were Introduced, Received and Admitted as Brothers of St Lawrence by the Worshipful Master and Officers of the Southern Cross Council. The Lecture was given in a faultless manner by Bro. Colin Beerling, who had been Introduced, Received and Admitted as a Brother of St Lawrence at the last meeting of the Council.

Brian Howlett and the Thrice Illustrious Sovereign was VW.Bro. Michael Barnes. The Lecture was given by Bro. Richard Baker.
