A Busy Afternoon for Farnham Council

On Wednesday 3rd November Farnham AMD Council No 235 was honoured by the presence of out District Grand Prefect, RW.Bro. John V C French, and several District Grand Officers.

A Lodge of St Lawrence was opened by the Worshipful Master W.Bro. Barrie Selway.

The District Grand Director of Ceremonies, W.Bro. Anton Smith, was admitted and advised the Worshipful Master that the District Grand Prefect was outside the door of the Lodge and demanded admission. The District Grand Prefect was welcomed by the Worshipful Master and offered the gavel. The District Grand Prefect said how good it was to be at Farnham Council again and introduced the Provincial team.

The next item on the agenda was to install W.Bro. George Deacon as Worshipful Master. This was done by W.Bro. Barrie in an excellent manner. After the ceremony W.Bro. George was congratulated by our District Grand Prefect who wished him a most enjoyable year.

Brothers David Warren and Clifford Foster were then Introduced, Received and Admitted to the Degree of St Lawrence the Martyr by the Worshipful Master, assisted by W.Bro. Barrie Selway who gave the Lecture. Brothers David and Clifford were then welcomed into the Order by our District Grand Prefect.

The Lodge was then closed and the customary photographs taken.

It was so good to see W.Bro. Peter Ribi at the meeting – seen here in front of the new Council honours board…

…which was recently installed, thanks to the efforts of Bro. Brian Dougherty, their Tyler.

After refreshments in the bar the Brethren of Farnham Council and their guests sat down to a most enjoyable meal at the Farnham Masonic Hall.
