A Busy Afternoon for Surrey Hills Council

On Tuesday 9th November Surrey Hills AMD Council No 208 was honoured by the presence of our District Grand Prefect, RW.Bro. John V C French; our Deputy District Grand Prefect, W.Bro. Bob Tuthill; and a number of District Officers. Acting as District Grand Sword Bearer was W.Bro. Chris Eley and as District Grand Standard Bearer W.Bro. Steve Jones.

A Lodge of St Lawrence was opened by VW.Bro. John Bryant, P.G.Reg. The District Grand Director of Ceremonies, W.Bro. Anton Smith, was admitted and advised the Worshipful Master that the District Grand Prefect was outside the door of the Lodge and demanded admission. The District Grand Prefect was welcomed by the Worshipful Master and offered the gavel.

The District Grand Prefect said how good it was to be at Surrey Hills Council and introduced the Provincial team. He spoke about the next annual Hog Roast to be held on the 10th July 2022, as well as how retention has been good in this Order due to Brethren staying in touch with each other during this challenging time. The next item on the agenda was to install W.Bro. Alastair Richardson as Worshipful Master. This was done by W.Bro. Steve Harvey, P.G.St.B., in an excellent manner. After the ceremony W.Bro. Alastair was congratulated by our District Grand Prefect who wished him a most enjoyable year.

Brothers James and Mark were then welcomed into the Order by our District Grand Prefect.
