Southern Cross Council – Knights of Constantinople Degree

In September in my own Council, Southern Cross No XIII, I took my final degree and was admitted a Knight of Constantinople.

Southern Cross Council – Knights of Constantinople Degree

A Degree of St. Lawrence the Martyr was opened by the Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Peter Jack. After taking the minutes we balloted for W.Bro. John French, my colleague Assistant Provincial Grand Master in the Mark Province of Surrey, to be a joining member of the Council.

I retired and the Degree of St. Lawrence the Martyr was adjourned and a Council of Knights of Constantinople was opened.

I was then admitted a Knight of Constantinople in a very moving ceremony by the Illustrious Potentate VW.Bro. Brian Howlett, PGReg. My escort for the Ceremony was the Senior Deacon of the Council, Bro. Ian Clark, who looked after me well and ensured I came to no harm. The Lecture was given by Bro. Bob Hancock in an excellent manner. He seemed to know a lot about the Knights of Constantinople.

The Council of Knights of Constantinople was closed and the Degree of St. Lawrence the Martyr was resumed. Bro. David Willmott was then installed as Worshipful Master by W.Bro. Peter Jack.

To round off a most enjoyable morning the Brethren of Southern Cross Council sat down to a splendid lunch at the Guildford Masonic Centre.
